I agree with Willy Loman; sending a letter is playing by their rules.

Disassociation Letter
by dontplaceliterature inhave any of you who formally diassociated yourself from jehovah's witness by letter sent anything in writing to the entire congregation?
would it be considered bad form to send a letter to friends in the congregation regarding your decision and the reasons for it, before/after/simultaneously you send a letter to the boe?.
i think i would feel compelled to, out of acknowledgement that most of them would not speak to me after "the big announcement.

"cult" is viewed as a pejorative by the general public, just as emotionallty laden a term as "apostate" to us.

On Jerkhovas Witlesses, Kingdumb Hells, Filthful & Discreet Slavebugger and Pio-sneering . .
by nicolaou ini detest this type of posting.
it's only my opinion of course and so long as forum rules aren't breached we're all free to express ourselves as we see fit.
doesn't mean i have to like it though.. honestly, can't you make your point without this kind of infantile name calling?

My personal preference would be for the participants on this forum restrain from the use of these epithets; but, whatever. It may be cathartic for them, I don't know.

Jehovah's Witnesses - Once Again the Fastest Growing Faith in the U.S.
by davidl7 inaccording to the latest statistics published by the ncc in its yearbook of american and canadian churches, the jehovah's witnesess had the highest growth rate, in 2010 growing 4.37%.
this is, i believe, is the 4th year in a row, that the witnesses had the highest growth rate.
roman catholics grew by less than 1%, as did most of the other churches listed.

Who cares if they grow, shrink, or stay the same? Does any of this validate their doctrines or policies?

Dear Governing Body - Why Have you abandoned Preaching Methods That Work?
by LostGeneration inbelow are two paragraphs from the upcoming wt study (dec 15th study edition, pages 13 and 14) here the watchtower writer praises the methods used in the past for their effectiveness in bringing many into the organization.
i have bolded phrases that emphasize these points.. 11 for example, as noted in the book .
jehovahs witnessesproclaimers of gods kingdom, at the turn of the 20th century, c. t. russell and his associates strongly believed that they were in a time of harvest and that people needed to hear liberating truth.

Several reasons for avoiding use of the modern media in spreading what they purport to believe is a message of the utmost life-and-death urgency: for one, the GB must sense that such methods would place them in a public forum where their core beliefs would be vulnerable to exposure as indefensible. That's explains the uniquely reclusive character of the Governing Body; in contrast with leading figures in other religions, it would be unthinkable for any of them to grant interviews, much less debate, in public media forums.
Then other reason is that for them, the door-to-door preaching serves as a "busy work" treadmill for the masses of JWs, which keeps them servile and in line; and at least temporarily assuages the guilt feelings heaped upon them relentlessly by the "do more" drumbeat at their meetings.

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

It's really nightmarish; they get crazier with each successive WT.

DON'T SAY THIS WHEN YOU ARE PRAYING!!!!
by brotherdan ini was recently talking with my good friend ding via pm on jwn, and the subject of legalism in prayer came up.
ding has much experience with jehovah's witnesses.
he was never one himself, so i get to teach him some things about the organization that he occasionally does not know.

Considering their offhanded use of the divine name "Jehovah this" and "Jehovah that," the tendency towards informality would seem to be undwerstandable. Also, when's the last time any JW followed Jesus' injunction to "pray for your enemies and those who persecute you?"

Notwithstanding their profession of neutrality, documented examples of JW polictical activism can be cited: demonstrations in France for one; and also in NYC, to promote the expansion of the Brooklyn Bethel complex. It will take a bit of digging, though.

2011 Yearbook - "Tracing All Things with Accuracy"
by pirata in2011 yearbook - "tracing all things with accuracy", p.9-13.
jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time.
" christ thus indicated that those who dispense this "food" would be conscientious, prudent, and discerning in providing spiritual food for the household of faith.-matt.

"Christ's anointed brothers USE the Writing Department'' ... seems to me an admission that none of the anointed do the actual writing of the articles which purport to be "food in due season" from the Faithful and Discreet Slave!

Content is King- Why the Meetings Fail
by LostGeneration inone of the big sayings for those that run websites is that "content is king" it makes perfect sense, as sites like this one have entertaining content for the targeted audience.
even better, more content is added everyday bringing users back repeatedly.
poptular tv shows and movies are loved because they entertain customers for a low cost or free.. on the other hand, you have the content provided by the watchtower bible and tract society, delivered though the pages of the watchtower and through weekly meetings.

What happens to a restaurant when the quality of the food deteriorates? They lose business and eventually fold up. In the case of the WTS, it never occurs to them that the CONTENT of the meetings is what turns people off, some sooner than later. So what to they do, improve the quality of the "food" or blame the consumer? We all know the answer.....
